ABOUT US

We are the descendants of Buck Wright, Born in Alabama during the Reconstruction period immediately following slavery sometime between 1870- 1875, Buck is the son of Adeline King (Wright), who was born a slave in Georgia in the 1830s.

According to the Twelfth US Census taken in June of 1900, (25) year old Buck Wright lived with his wife Dealy, and their two young children Clair, (2) and Henry, (9) months. Later, the Thirteenth US Census from May of 1910 lists three more children James Wright, (7) Charlie Wright, (6) and Joe Wright, (5). These children are our grandparents.

Today it is hard to conceive what they did to overcome the struggles of slavery, sharecropping, and oppression. When you consider the sacrifices made then that we benefit from now, you can’t help but be in awe.

We are excited to join together in June 2020 to celebrate family, legacy, and the resilient spirit passed on to each of us by Buck and our ancestors.

Please stand with us as we come to honor their life, love, and sacrifices that afforded us this opportunity to live a better life. We are Blessed!
